1. Our commitment
BoardGame Friend explicitly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Our services must not be used to sexually exploit, abuse, groom, endanger or otherwise harm a child.
These standards apply to all BoardGame Friend users, profiles, posts, messages, groups, events, game rooms, uploaded media and other content or interactions available through the service.
Zero tolerance: Content or behaviour involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child is not permitted on BoardGame Friend.
2. Prohibited child sexual abuse and exploitation
Users must not use BoardGame Friend to create, upload, share, request, promote, facilitate or engage in content or behaviour involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children. Prohibited activity includes, but is not limited to:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), including visual depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
- Grooming or attempting to build a relationship with a child for sexual exploitation or sexual activity.
- Sexual solicitation of a child or attempts to arrange sexual contact with a child.
- Sextortion, sexual coercion or blackmail involving a child.
- Sex trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child.
- Sexualising a child or requesting, distributing, advertising or linking to sexual content involving a child.
- Using BoardGame Friend groups, events, meetups, messages or other features to endanger or sexually exploit a child.
These rules supplement the broader conduct and safety requirements in our Terms of Use.
3. How to report a child-safety concern
Users can report abusive, suspicious or unsafe behaviour through BoardGame Friend's in-app support and reporting mechanism:
In the app: Profile → Settings → Solution Center
You can also report a child-safety concern by email at [email protected].
When reporting, provide the relevant profile, post, message, group, event or incident details where possible. Do not forward or redistribute suspected CSAM in order to make a report. Please do not include passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
For immediate danger: Contact local emergency services or the appropriate local authorities. BoardGame Friend support is not an emergency service.
4. How we respond to reports and CSAM
We review reports and take appropriate action when we become aware of content or behaviour that violates these Child Safety Standards, our Terms of Use or applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances, actions may include:
- Removing or restricting access to prohibited content.
- Suspending, restricting or terminating accounts involved in violations.
- Taking steps to prevent repeated misuse of the service.
- Preserving relevant information where necessary for safety, legal compliance or a lawful investigation.
- Cooperating with competent authorities where required by applicable law.
When BoardGame Friend obtains actual knowledge of CSAM, we take appropriate action, including removing or disabling access to the material, in accordance with these standards and applicable law.
5. Compliance and reporting to authorities
BoardGame Friend is committed to complying with applicable child-safety laws and regulations.
We maintain a process for reporting confirmed CSAM to the appropriate regional or national authority, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) where applicable, as required by applicable law.
We may also respond to valid legal requests and cooperate with law-enforcement or child-protection authorities in accordance with applicable law.
6. Age and child safety
BoardGame Friend is not intended for children below the age at which they can lawfully consent to information society services in their country without the required parental or legal-guardian authorisation.
If we reasonably believe that an account is being used in violation of our age requirements or in a way that creates a child-safety risk, we may restrict, suspend or terminate access and take other appropriate safety measures.
Our Child Safety Standards apply regardless of whether the service is intended for children.
